2021 BOOK CLUB

Who: Excited middle schoolers (6-8th grade)

What: A FREE six-week Book Club program! We intend to dive into extensive analysis with The Giver by Lois Lowry for the first four sessions. Club activities will include Google Classroom discussion boards, in-class seminars, kahoots, etc. For the last two sessions, we would like to offer some flexibility by having students collectively select a “leisure” book to read/discuss. We want these two sessions to be more laid back, rather than purely academic based.

When: If you are interested and want to sign up, please click the button below. Later on, we will email more information to those who fill out the form. This is the intended schedule for book club:

Saturdays 10:00-10:30 AM PST
January 23, 2021: The Giver
January 30,  2021: The Giver
February 6, 2021: The Giver
-- President’s Day Break --
February 27, 2021: The Giver
March 6, 2021: Book of Choice (TBA)
March 13, 2021: Book of Choice (TBA)

* We will be providing PDF versions of the books; purchasing books is encouraged in case the student wants to annotate, but it is not required.

Where: Zoom! Please sign up to receive updates and specific links to the Zoom classroom.

Why: To both intellectually stimulate middle school readers in fun and enjoyable class sessions!
